Device Tracker Privacy Policy

1. Local-First Processing Architecture

Device Tracker (application identifier: com.signalradar) is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripheral discovery and RF diagnostic application. All BLE packet decoding, signal smoothing, and device discovery algorithms operate entirely on your local device. Zero BLE hardware MAC addresses, raw BLE advertisement payloads, or location coordinates are ever transmitted to any remote server or third party.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob) & User Consent (Google UMP)

Device Tracker displays non-intrusive advertisements served by Google AdMob. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and regional privacy frameworks, Device Tracker utilizes Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK:

• Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, Switzerland, and regulated US states are presented with a consent form upon first launch to configure personalized vs. non-personalized advertising preferences.
• In-App Privacy Choices: Users may review or change their consent preferences at any time directly in the app via Settings → Compliance & Legal Disclosures → Privacy Choices (Ad Consent).

3. Application Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To ensure application stability and monitor feature adoption, Device Tracker uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous aggregate statistics (such as scan session counts and screen transitions). We do NOT collect or transmit personal identifying information (PII), device names, or hardware MAC addresses.

4. Bluetooth Permissions & "neverForLocation" Assertion

On Android 12 (API level 31) and higher, Device Tracker requests the BLUETOOTH_SCAN permission with the android:usesPermissionFlags="neverForLocation" attribute explicitly declared in our application manifest. This constitutes a legally binding and platform-enforced assertion that Device Tracker does not determine, derive, or access your physical GPS coordinates or geographic location from Bluetooth signals.

5. Data Collected on Device & Retention

All discovered device identifiers and signal logs remain exclusively within your device's private sandboxed application storage (capped at 500 records). You may selectively delete any individual device record or execute a full storage wipe at any time directly from the Settings screen.
